Indoor trampoline arena Flip Out, owned by JOA Leisure, have dramatically expanded their business with the help of Business Loans Scotland to incorporate a permanent ‘Total Wipeout’ inflatable assault course which is the first of its kind in the West of Scotland.

Already taking the title of being one of the world’s largest trampoline arenas, JOA Leisure have converted approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of their 63,000 sq. ft. trampoline area into a giant inflatable assault course that has helped complement their existing offering and bring substantial additional custom.

Employing over 100 people to date, the new inflatable arena has created 10 new jobs and has been a fantastic addition to the already extremely successful Flip Out arena. With the official launch taking place at the beginning of March, Inflataflip consists of ‘Total Wipeout’ style bouncing balls, an airbag drop, a three-lane obstacle course, an inflatable drop slide and ball pools, all of which are available to the general public, group outings and both adult and children’s parties.

Fully funded through the Scottish Growth Scheme and the European Regional Development Fund (EDF), BLS offer loans from £25,000 to £100,000 for new and growing Scottish SMEs and aim to ensure that good, commercially viable proposals don't fail from a lack of access to finance. Due to this, BLS were delighted to support the expansion of Flip Out and awarded the company a business loan of £40,000 to help towards the development of the new and exciting inflatable arena.

Speaking of the loan secured, George Gallacher, General Manager at Flip Out Glasgow said:

“The funding we secured from Business Loans Scotland has helped us to speed up the process of installing 15,000 sq. ft. of inflatable fun to the arena. It also enabled us to realise our vision for Inflataflip at Flip Out, expanding our business offering while remaining one of the world’s biggest trampoline arenas. We’re extremely grateful for the support of both Business Loans Scotland and South Lanarkshire Council and look forward to continuing to grow Flip Out as one of top leisure attractions in Central Scotland.”

Fund Manager of Business Loans Scotland, Andrew Dickson, added:

“I am delighted that Business Loans Scotland has been able to support JOA Leisure with loan finance to grow their business. We are passionate about supporting the growth and development plans of SMEs across Scotland, therefore with the help of our loans, businesses can achieve their growth ambitions without delay. With a dedicated pot of £7 million in place, we are keen to support many other businesses, like JOA Leisure, access loan funding which will allow them to flourish in the current economic environment.”

Councillor John Anderson, Chair of Community and Enterprise Resources for South Lanarkshire Council added:

“This new inflatable experience is a very welcome addition to the leisure activities on offer for visitors to the area and residents of Central Scotland. We are delighted that Flip Out has decided to expand and diversify their business in South Lanarkshire and that Business Loans Scotland has been able to assist this growth.
