Glasgow Business Awarded £50,000 Loan to Support New Venture into USA Market

Candidate.ID is the world’s first talent pipeline software that enables employers to recruit strategically by building pipelines of engaged candidates.

Candidate ID

Candidate.ID, is the world’s first talent pipeline software that enables employers to recruit strategically by building pipelines of engaged candidates.

When co-founders Adam Gordon and Scott McRae came up with the idea in 2015, they immediately realised that modern marketing automation technology gave employers the ability to recruit new candidates in a more effective way.

After doing some market research and speaking with key recruitment leaders in several international companies, the first version of the product was launched in 2016.

A year later in 2017 the product was commercialised and by 2018 Candidate.ID had brought on international customers including Capita, Centrica and Specsavers.

The company currently employs 15 members of staff and as a result of the loan awarded by Business Loans Scotland, this will allow this figure to rise to 25 in the upcoming months.

Speaking of the loan awarded, Co-Founder and CEO of Candidate.ID Adam Gordon said:

“Candidate.ID is performing well however, our loan from Business Loans Scotland will enable us to accelerate the creation of additional software which will allow our company to grow faster during 2019 and continue to create new jobs in Glasgow."

Graham Smith, Group Manager of Economic Development at Glasgow City Council, said:

“The loan to Candidate ID Ltd., through Business Loans Scotland continues to demonstrate the commitment Glasgow has for supporting new and existing businesses in the City.  This investment of working capital will assist the business to develop their innovative software  in line with the growth phase and strategy of the business, which includes entry into international markets and increased staffing.

The enhanced software product will also enable the business to secure additional investment required to further accelerate growth.  The additional investment will then be utilised to generate market traction, additional software development in line with the sales and marketing strategy of the business.

Glasgow City Council remains committed to fostering an innovative environment in Glasgow that supports small businesses in realising their growth potential.”

Fund Manager of Business Loans Scotland, Andrew Dickson added:

“Access to capital remains a major hurdle to many small and medium sized businesses which are looking to start up and grow. Often, our funding can make the difference between a business struggling or flourishing and that in turn will have a positive impact on employment, profitability and making communities stronger.”
